  My Mom was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Since both my brother and I live on the West Coast, we were in a dilemma about where to place her to receive the best care. Originally, we placed her in a facility that was not a lock down and, unfortunately, she escaped several times and they could not handle her behavior. She was sent to the hospital where she was waiting for a placement to a new facility. Leah Bergdoff at Brookdale Willows and their RNs were incredibly helpful to me and went way beyond the call of duty to assist us with our Mom. They sent a nurse to the hospital to interview Mom and arranged for her to go to Haven Hospital. Unfortunately, Mom was unable to sign herself in to Haven Hospital, so we had to find alternative placement. Even though she was not placed in Brookdate due to her behavioral issues, Brookdale was amazing in terms of their care and concern and helped us in every way they could. Their facility is beautiful and I'm sorry it didn't work out for Mom to be placed there. I would highly recommend them for their exceptional care and their willingness to step in when no one else would. I am very grateful to them.
